Diesel fuel

Diesel fuel

Hydrotreated / L-02-62 from Turkmenbashy Oil Refinery Complex

Diesel fuel is a petrochemical product used as fuel in special diesel engines. This type of fuel, which is obtained during the process of distillation of oil from kerosene-gas oil fractions. Diesel fuel is a viscous and hardly volatile liquid, which consists mainly of carbon. You may found other elements such as hydrogen, oxygen, sulfur and nitrogen in its structure.

People used to call diesel fuel as “diesel”. The name of diesel fuel comes from the German word Solarol (solar oil) - this is the ancient name for the yellowish fraction formed during the distillation of oil.

Diesel fuel has a wide range of applications, mainly for transport, diesel power plants, agricultural and military equipment. Also, diesel fuel is used as fuel for boiler rooms.

Diesel fuel in Turkmenistan

The Turkmenbashi complex of oil refineries (abbreviated as TKNPZ), under the leadership of the Ministry of the Oil and Gas Industry and Mineral Resources of Turkmenistan, is one of the largest oil refineries in Turkmenistan.

The construction of the plant began in 1942 and year after year it was modernized and new ultra-modern and productive plants were put into operation. In 2011, major repairs were carried out, as well as a number of necessary technological operations.

Today, the Plant produces products such as gasoline, liquefied gas, aviation and technical kerosene, jet and diesel fuel, lubricating oils, low-sulfur heating oil, polypropylene, gas oil, petroleum electrode coke, bitumen (building and road) , technical sulfur and synthetic detergents.

The products manufactured by the plant meet all international standards and are in demand not only inside Turkmenistan, but also abroad. Most products are intended for export to neighboring countries, the CIS and Europe. The main consumer countries are Russia, Germany, Spain, Italy, Japan, China, Turkey, Iran, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Uzbekistan and other countries.

The capacity of TKNPZ is 10 million tons of products annually.
